Hmm, well what to say. My name is Mairi White, my middle name is Claire which I find somewhat annoying (anyone starting any magazine jokes gets slapped). I was born in Kirkcaldy in Fife. I have lived in Glenrothes, then in Leven before moving to Grimethorpe in South Yorkshire.
I've always been a bit of a weirdo I guess, been obsessed with dragons since around the age of 2 at least, and had a fanatical hatred of the colour pink for the same length of time. Started singing at the age of 6 and haven't shut up since as my friends will attest to, according to one old flatemate I even sing in my sleep.
Ever since discovering the written word I have been utterly hooked. My mother likes to joke that I don't read books, I devour them, and I guess she does kinda have a point. I also love to write and do have aspirations that someday I may become an author. I write fantasy stuff mostly, the obsession with dragons thing kinda bending me that way.
I moved to Edinburgh for University in 1999. Although since then I have dropped out (it would take a while to explain). Despite this I have stayed here, loving the city and its people far too much to want to go anywhere else.
Here I have found many great people, you know who you are so I won't name names. I also discovered roleplaying which, despite sapping most of my free time, has given me an outlet for my creativity that I find most helpful, not to mention being responsible for my meeting so many good folk.
